What Do You Really Want?

Do you ever consider what you really want. Truly considering what you desire without factoring in what you “think” your response should be based on society, your roles, your gender or whatever. What do you want? If I have to answer that question in this moment, my response is that:

  • I want to be fearless. Not a nebulous fearless, but specifically- I want to face the challenges ahead of me today with grace. I want to treat others with compassion without risking my authenticity or abandoning my ethics.
  • I want to truly love the work that I do. Which in my case means a transition to work that I love. Embracing the fact that I am slowly positioning myself to be able to do work that I love. That brings a smile to my face. I want to enthusiastically approach my day, not move from one item on my to-do list to the next out of desperation to ensure that I am able to pay bills and maintain the lifestyle that I have.
  • I want to be relentless. Strive towards my goal singularly focused on where I want to be in one month, six months, one year and propel myself to towards those goals without being deterred.
  • Finally and most critical, is that I must hold myself accountable for my achievements or lack there of. If I falter, I have to get up and continue forward. Never forgetting that this is mine to craft and create. Through guidance and hard work this situation will be reversed.

I will be focusing on myself and readying myself for better, and bigger challenges because they will come as I move towards what I really want. Now… What Do You Really Want?

Note: Be sure to revisit this. I have learned that this answer changes, we constantly re-prioritize as life becomes more and less complex. What matter is that you do continue reassessing the answer to this question. If you are off the path to achieving your goal – regroup, refocus and get moving.
